چکیده
Long-range active imaging has widespread applications in remote sensing and target recognition. Single-photon light detection ranging (lidar) been shown to have high sensitivity temporal resolution. On the application front, however, operating range of practical single-photon lidar systems is limited about tens kilometers over Earth’s atmosphere, mainly due weak echo signal mixed with background noise. Here, we present a compact coaxial system capable realizing 3D at up 201.5 km. It achieved by using high-efficiency optical devices for collection detection, what believe new noise-suppression technique that efficient long-range applications. We show photon-efficient computational algorithms enable accurate hundreds as few 0.44 photons per pixel. The results represent significant step toward practical, low-power extra-long ranges.

Neural Imaging Using Single-Photon Avalanche Diodes
Introduction: This paper analyses the ability of single-photon avalanche diodes (SPADs) for neural imaging. The current trend in the production of SPADs moves toward the minimumdark count rate (DCR) and maximum photon detection probability (PDP). Moreover, the jitter response which is the main measurement characteristic for the timing uncertainty is progressing. Methods: The neural imaging pro...
متن کاملMeasurement-device-independent quantum key distribution over 200 km.
Measurement-device-independent quantum key distribution (MDIQKD) protocol is immune to all attacks on detection and guarantees the information-theoretical security even with imperfect single-photon detectors. Recently, several proof-of-principle demonstrations of MDIQKD have been achieved. Those experiments, although novel, are implemented through limited distance with a key rate less than 0.1 ...
متن کاملQuantum key distribution over 120 km using ultrahigh purity single-photon source and superconducting single-photon detectors
Advances in single-photon sources (SPSs) and single-photon detectors (SPDs) promise unique applications in the field of quantum information technology. In this paper, we report long-distance quantum key distribution (QKD) by using state-of-the-art devices: a quantum-dot SPS (QD SPS) emitting a photon in the telecom band of 1.5 μm and a superconducting nanowire SPD (SNSPD). At the distance of 10...
متن کاملDistribution of time-energy entanglement over 100 km fiber using superconducting single-photon detectors.
In this letter, we report an experimental realization of distributing entangled photon pairs over 100 km of dispersion-shifted fiber. In the experiment, we used a periodically poled lithium niobate waveguide to generate the time-energy entanglement and superconducting single-photon detectors to detect the photon pairs after 100 km. We also demonstrate that the distributed photon pairs can still...
متن کاملSingle Photon Imaging
Electromagnetic radiation can be successfully modelled as a stream of particles with zero rest-mass, the so-called photons. For this reason, the holy grail of image sensing is a two-dimensional array of photodetectors, capable of sensing each individual incident photon. Despite the simplicity of this demand, it is surprising to realize how many different solutions to the single-photon imaging p...
